Welcome to the Duke of Cumberland

The Duke of Cumberland is a beautiful 15th century pub perched on the side of a hill with breathtaking views. From the gardens, on a fine summer's day, it's just possible to see Leith Hill, the highest point in Surrey.
beautiful gardens

Today’s Duke still retains a lot of its original charm. Inside, there are flagstones, brick floors, wooden scrubbed tables and local ales served straight from the barrel. Outside, you will still find fresh trout in one of the many garden ponds.

Come and enjoy a meal, which will be prepared by our award-winning chef Simon Goodman, and choose one of our award-winning real cask ales; wines, spirits and soft drinks are also available from the bar to complement your meal.

Our aim at the Duke is to provide you with a peaceful haven in a tranquil corner of West Sussex away from the hustle and bustle of work and everyday life.
